Jason P. Theriot Consulting, LLC was founded by Jason P. Theriot, Ph.D., an author, historian, and consultant. He earned a doctorate in history from the University of Houston and a degree in journalism from Louisiana State University. Additionally, he is a former Energy Policy Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
As a professional historian, Dr. Theriot has authored numerous publications, including American Energy, Imperiled Coast: Oil and Gas Development in Louisiana’s Wetlands and Great Game Paradise: A History of Vermilion Corporation.
Dr. Theriot specializes in family memoirs, biographies, and company histories. He recently completed a four-year history of the Cenac Towing Company, one of the pioneering family-owned firms in marine transportation. He is now working on two company history book projects: one on Sun Oil/Oryx Energy (offshore E&P company) and one on M. A. Patout & Son (sugar conglomerate). As Principle Investigator, he contributed to a U.S. National Park Service publication, Truman: The Elder Statesman, a study of Harry Truman’s retirement years. He writes, edits, conducts oral history interviews and makes Life-Story videos for families. He lectures on US History and Energy History at the University of Houston and hosts/produces the Frenchie Podcast, which features his interviews with the Cajuns of World War II. Dr. Theriot’s long-awaiting book Frenchie: The Story of the French-speaking Cajuns of World War II will be published by UL Press in August 2024.
As a subject matter expert, Dr. Theriot deploys his research and archival skills to the field of litigation support with a focus on energy and environmental litigation.
He lives in Houston, TX, with his wife and two children and spends most of his recreational time in the marshes of coastal Louisiana.
